Wildflowers & Walking. Georgia & The Caucasus Mountains 12–20 June 2021

Wildlife & Walking - Georgia June 2020Wildlife & Walking - Georgia June 2020Wildflowers & Walking GeorgiaWe travel to some of the most remote and awe-inspiring landscapes imaginable where every inch seems to be covered with colourful flowers and butterflies. As well as being beautiful it is a very safe and friendly country and our walks are easily accessible. We begin our journey in Tbilisi, the capital and then travel to Kazbegi in the mountains. We come across lakes, wide valleys and gorges, pastures, mountains, waterfalls and tiny early Christian monasteries perched high up. We should see Gildenstadt’s redstart, red fronted serin, various wheatears and at least hear the corncrake from our mountain hotel. We will see a wide range of unusual plants including many campanulas, huge white cornflowers, lots of Geraniums and bright pink daises as well as butterflies such as purple shot copper, many fritillaries, blues and Apollo. All absolutely stunning.
