If you have never travelled with us before or even been on a ‘group’ holiday, we should explain that we do not just offer walking holidays. We aim to allow you the chance to see as much wildlife as possible at a relaxed pace. We walk about 4 to 6 miles a day and our party size is usually 10 to 16 people. We do not provide single purpose study tours and so we do not forget history (including archaeology) and culture. We also very much like to sample the local food and wine of the country we visit. And we stay in comfortable and interesting accommodation in pleasant surroundings. Our holidays are fully escorted by two experienced leaders and all destinations are carefully researched. All holidays involving a flight are organised with bonded tour operators and your bookings are therefore fully protected.
We are always pleased to welcome people travelling on their own for whatever reason and our groups are very friendly and indeed we get many repeat customers. We do get a few grumbles about single supplements but unfortunately the situation is beyond our control. The supplements are passed straight on to the hotel in question.
We know many of you worry about airports but we are there to help you find your way. We often arrange for a taxi/people carrier or minibus to take us down to airports to make life easier and keep the costs down. We can recommend hotels too if you wish to stay overnight in order to catch an early flight. Alternatively, if you would like to fly from a regional airport instead of the advertised one then please ask us at the time of booking.
We use several different airports and for the first time we are offering you the chance to book your own flight on-line for two of our holidays in order to keep the costs down. If you would like us to book them for you then we are happy to do so at no extra cost. Obviously, the earlier the flight is booked the cheaper it will be.
Some of our holidays give you the option of traveling by train so if you wish to do this then please let us know promptly.
The environment is very much on our minds of course and we are always careful to select hotels that offer a strictly ‘green’ policy. Once we have reached our holiday destination we keep our travelling to a minimum and are often able to walk straight out of the hotel. We prefer to get to know an area well rather than dash about in a minibus all day. We use local coach/ferry operators and sometimes use public transfers. If the holiday is on a B & B basis then we always choose restaurants that serve good local traditional food rather than bland ‘cosmopolitan’ meals..
We have over 25 years of experience and have led tours with groups all over the world. We formerly worked for Norfolk Wildlife Trust and are keen gardeners. We live in a Norfolk village.
We take 10 to 20 people maximum.
We welcome single travellers and you will find our groups very friendly and welcoming.
We are a small company offering 10 to 12 carefully researched destinations each year. This means we are able to provide a very personal service and ensure that you feel part of a friendly and relaxed group.
Where do we go?
We cover a wide range of destinations mostly in Europe but occasionally travel further afield. Our holidays are countryside based and we take you to places off the beaten track that perhaps other companies don’t visit. Somewhere different!
